ALTAR GUILD
Members of the altar guild are “ministers of the liturgy.” This ministry involves preparing the worship space (sanctuary, altar, etc.) with the furnishings, linens, and paraments used in the liturgy at every service.
Some of the Altar Guild's responsibilities include:
-
setting up and putting away the communion elements for each service,
-
maintaining the altar linens,
-
changing the banner and the paraments on the altar/pulpit/lectern for each church season and/or festival, and
-
setting up the hymn board on the wall showing the season/festival and hymns for the service.
Those serving on the Altar Guild usually are responsible for the duties only one or two months per year, making it an easy way to get involved with a very important group. All confirmed adults and youth of Reformation may serve on the altar guild.
If you are interested in getting involved in the altar guild at Reformation, please email the church office and you will be connected to the correct people.
