Reformation Church Women (RCW)
RCW (Reformation Church Women), also known as WELCA, meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 12noon in the Parish Hall,
except for July because of summer vacations.
We have devotions and a Bible study, a business meeting, and lunch. We try to be finished by 1:30.
We have one major fundraiser each year for our Church projects. This is the Chinese Auction in October. We chose a local charity and divide the funds raised with them. Some of the past charities have been Hope of Lancaster, the Girl's & Boy's Home, Pregnancy Care Center, the Listening Center, the Dream Team Foundation of Lancaster, Christian Services, and Golden Care center. Our part goes to projects in the Church. One year we bought the cushions for the pews, another was the phone tree, and then the handicapped restroom in the Parish Hall. We've remodeled the kitchen from Chinese Auction money and cookbook sales; adding a pantry, larger refrigerator and stove, and a dishwasher. 2012 monies will be spent helping pay for repainting the parish hall and new carpet.
We attend the SCWELCA convention each year in June/July as well as the Upstate conference meetings.
